Learning is still cool. That is what I am again recognizing as I drop this new podcast episode. It is titled, “Halloween History to Fun Today.” Already, we’re up to Episode 5 of the new Binge with Baldrick series. So far, the exciting process has been both a trick and a treat.
Personally, I learned some really cool stuff about the origins of Halloween. I hope you will think and feel the same way when you’re done watching or listening here. Being of Irish descent, perhaps I took the events more to heart. Prior to work on this episode, I knew some of the story of Ireland being a foundation for the Halloween holiday. However, I didn’t know all the gory details until now.
Halloween Trick or Trivia

Since the show was already in a learning mode, I thought it would be mindful or mindless fun to throw around some trivia questions about Halloween. Again, I knew some. Now I know more. Without giving away key information, please know you have a pretty good shot at doing better than I did. Perhaps you will get a few knowledge drops along with the more than a few drops of candy names I cranked out. Maybe it’s worth checking the Guinness Book of World Records. What if it’s possible there is a category for most forced candy names in a new podcast episode? If so, I could go down in the annals of Halloween history. Or at least I can say, “I could have been a contender.”
Halloween Santa Rita Ranch

No doubt about this one. Going to Santa Rita Ranch in Mesa, Arizona at Halloween time is worth the trip. The homeowners in this community are passionate and personable. They are also competitive and capable of not really knowing (or caring) when enough is enough. No wonder SRP boxes are on the street as you enter the East Mesa community. They are going to have healthy electric bills come November.
One of the beauties of this annual Arizona treasure is it is made up of big kids and little kids. Adult supervision is in short supply. Meanwhile, Halloween decorations are in a serious surplus situation. I met some wonderful people and families here in the multiple nights I visited. You will meet some of them and see their haunted and happy displays of making new Halloween history. It really is a fun and fast episode I hope you enjoy.
Happy Halloween!
