Here I am. An inside look. Thomas Baldrick. Right now, in 2025. I cannot think of a more honest and accurate way to write a website bio page about me. Character counts. A lot. Don’t you think?
Certainly, I could elaborate on being an Emmy Award-Winner with a diverse background as an accomplished host, reporter, producer, and writer. I’m also aware it’s not everyday someone goes from sports to add entertainment, documentaries, business, reality TV, and beyond.
Furthermore, I could focus on curiosity and my wide-ranging appetite developing content. It has been supported by a rare ability to take on topics and subject matter new to me and then share them into effective storytelling for a target audience.
Thomas Baldrick Transparency
However, I owe to you, myself, and my kiddo to focus this page more on today. I’m proud of who I am as a man and creative professional. Hence, I have no desire to hide it.
On the other hand, glossing over widely recognized credentials from yesterday for very different criteria today will clearly not work with everyone. And that’s because I already know this and am used to it. But that’s fine.
I’ll hope here to reach those who can either relate to my life choices or at least respect them.
Thomas Baldrick Lifechanging Chapter
It is exciting for me to focus on creating new opportunities. I’m now an empty nester. For me, this lifechanging event took years to brave a new world overnight.
A child moving out is a unique experience for all. Yet, I’m guessing empty nesting is different for us solo parents. My family matter has another layer considering our 2-person household is now cut in half.
Some couldn’t understand Thomas Baldrick leaving a successful television career to be an everyday daddy. Therefore, some may not understand this phase either. My wish is everyone will see a few of the obvious traits I bring if we work together. Valuable assets such as:
- Able to succeed on multiple projects at the same time.
- Accountability, adaptability, and reliability.
- Problem-solving.
- Performing under pressure.
- Loyalty and integrity.
- Sense of humor!

The Baldrick Boys have switched roles and seats. My son, Julian Baldrick, is early in his chosen career in the United States Air Force. This is a script he alone wrote after graduating high school with honors and more than 20 college credits.
As a longtime solo dad, I encouraged and empowered Jules to live HIS life. So, it’s awesome he had the courage and character to change his mind from attending a college ROTC program and decided to enlist.
His plan was to begin military service while earning his college degree. He is working in Air Force medical logistics to either pursue that career track or as a foundation to attend medical school.
No doubt about it. Julian is in the director’s chair for this production. I am proud and grateful to enjoy my role as a creative consultant.
It wasn’t long ago I taught him to drive. Now, I’m like a welcomed backseat passenger who gets invited to ride up front when called upon for help with navigation or directions.
Meantime, that unwavering Thomas Baldrick career passion hopped back into the driver’s seat to steer my life. What makes this adventure even more enticing is my GPS is totally programmable.
I am eager and wide open to explore work opportunities. And now I can freely say this includes options requiring travel, relocation, or a hybrid version of the two.
Thomas Baldrick Skill Set
Leaving television network news for freelance creative work was not a story I expected to tell. Looking at this through a wide-angle lens, one might think my career skill set got rusty or diminished. However, quite the opposite is true.
Some of my growth and education was necessity. Other times were opportunity driven.
Technology and the internet, traditional media and social media all changed greatly. And because I adapted, my skill set expanded as a freelance professional.

Writing
I added Search Engine Optimization (SEO writing) skills. This has been used effectively on websites, blog posts, press releases, social media. I’ve written extensive corporate video and live event scripts, and done executive ghostwriting for presentations and speeches. I’ve written commercials, sales, marketing, and fundraising efforts, newsletters, and more.
Having a rock-solid foundation as an experienced journalist helps greatly in quickly getting results in new roles for companies and Non-profit organizations.
Hosting
Work as an on-camera host continued. It also helped me to assume related roles as live on-stage host for pharmaceutical company meetings and international medical society conferences, and symposiums.
I also hosted digital events in continuing medical education (CME) for healthcare providers in areas such as oncology, thrombosis, and pulmonary hypertension.
In addition, I worked behind the microphone in podcasting, radio appearances, and commercials. Sometimes I traveled to studios. Other times, I learned to do professional recordings myself with an audio mixer, microphones, and software. This also includes doing editing of the final product.
Video Production
My production skills also crossed over to behind the camera. I took what I learned from years of teaming with excellent camera crews. Now, I do plenty of projects where I am in fact shooting some or all the video required.
But that’s not all.
Closing what has been a full circle in video production, I added non-linear video editing skills with Apple’s Final Cut Pro software. Then, to accomplish being able to deliver high-quality graphic, I have learned how to design my own projects using the versatile software, Canva.
Events
I’ve also worked as a producer for corporate meetings. These have been for both live in-person gatherings as well as satellite and streaming events.
Regardless of the industry, topic, audience or desired outcome, I enjoy pushing myself to actively remain a lifelong learner.
